About Us

We stay very active in the Quarter Horse World.  The active involvement began in the early 1970's traveling and showing the American Quarter Horse.  From the very beginning, the respect and love of this versatile animal remains with the Stude household.  Homer is in his 24th year as National Director of the American Quarter Horse Association, and served 21 years on the Youth Committee.  He has served as Ring Steward at the Youth World Show for 13 years, and has served on several committees in the association.

The Studes have been honored by the American Quarter Horse Association with the 4A Breeders Referral Program.  Stude Stables has several broodmares that produce some of the top bloodlines in their babies.

Cookie is a past chairman of the American Quarter Horse Foundation Committee, and is still active on the committee.  Cookie also assists in the presentation of all of the Awards at the Youth World Show.  A Past President (the first woman president) of the Missouri Quarter Horse Association, Cookie keeps a close state association involvement as well.

The Studes have been members of the Missouri Quarter Horse Association for over 37 years.  Their work with the assistance of the youth educational programs and support have been one of the top priorities of both Homer and Cookie.

Homer is a member and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge.  Service is a priority with benevolent work in the community.

Another important area of dedication is the Order of the Eastern Star.  Spending time of service and giving to charitable organizations as a result of the Order.  Cookie is a past Grand Officer of 2003, and is presently on the Educational Fund Board.  Being treasurer, it offers contacts to our students who are in the process of advancing their education, and the opportunity to serve on behalf of the Order.

We believe in the several volunteer community organizations that we both work and serve in, both equine and non-equine related.

With all of our busy involvement, valuable time is spent with our children and grandchildren.  And, of course Duke.
